Wheat is a major source of feed energy and the basis of several of our feeds. By state, Montana is the top producer of Certified Organic wheat in the United States. The dryland conditions of our primary wheat growing areas produce a crop that is high in protein, often over 17% for hard, red spring wheat. This makes our growers’ wheat crops a good source of both energy and protein in our formulations.

Flax is a pulse crop that performs well in Montana and is high in both fat and protein. 

Depending on the feed, whole flax seeds, flax meal and cold pressed flax seeds are used to achieve different nutritional results. Flax is also rich in Omega-3 fatty acid, an important component to healthy corn- and soy-free feeds.
